every friday, @latticedesign gets together for a weekly cooldown activity: something fun we can all do together as a team. π
today, we used avatar generators from http://picrew.me and http://meiker.io to create avatars for ourselves and each other! β¨
Session details
Duration
60 minutes
Team size
5
Format
Remote
This exercise is a fun way for the team to do little portraits of each other, even if you have 0 artistic talent! There are a ton of Japanese avatar builders that artists make where you can pick from different hair, eyes, expressions, and outfits to build a quick illustrated avatar. These end up as great profile photos for Slack or social media too!
Agenda
5 min - Intro explainer of the exercise and maybe a demo of one avatar maker since many are in Japanese
30 min
Option 1: Assign everyone a partner and have them create as many avatars for their partner as possible within the time limit
Option 2: Depending on the size of the team, split up the time into speed rounds and do a partner rotation
5 min - Paste your creations into Figma and group portraits either by artist or subject
20 min - Presentations OR another fun option is a guessing game of who the portrait is of!
Resources
Avatar makers that I like because theyβre more customizable and inclusive for a diverse team π:
For this week's cooldown activity, the @latticedesign team had a GIF battle!!! Each person shares a GIF based on the prompts for each round and then we vote on our favorite. Person with the most votes wins! https://trello.com/b/27fkXIa4/lattice-design-team-gif-battle
Today @latticedesign team played a new game where we make quick pitch decks for silly startups. The results were hilarious. Peer-to-peer toilet paper, drone delivered salsa, and used sock teleportation to name a few. π¦πβ¨
